Itty bitty family of five; TJ04.19.10

Last week I had an inhome session with this incredible family of 5 dogs! I have had the pleasure of seeing this family grow over the years. I first photographed Sydney (far left) and Jake (second from the right, kisser) together in 07 the Toby and Lexi (both in the middle) in 08. Now that Tj has joined the pack I was excited to do a session of all 5 together. This post is all about Tj since he never really got his own private session with me :)

I would love to post more photos from this session but my MAC is sick and has been sent away to the APPLE hospital. More to come next week when my computer gets home.

I called him Pony all day. My little Pony (my favorite show in the 80s).

Best girl ever; Misha03.03.10

This is a hard post for me to write because I have a personal connection to Misha, we spent everyday together from 2000-2004. I was there when Frankie (her dad) adopted her over 10yrs ago. Misha is an extremely special dog. She is the kind of dog we all dream of having: respectful, well-behaved, sweet, tender and beautiful. She has an extraordinary connection to Frankie; he is the love of her life and her reason for living.

For the last two years Misha has been struggling with crippling leg pain. and recently she tested positive for bone cancer (this is where my eyes fill with tears).

This past Sunday I made the trip up to Misha’s house to photograph her. I was unsure of what to except. When I arrived she ran (slowly) to me and gave me coconut kisses hello (her mouth is always scented of coconut b/c it they are her favorite toy). To my surprise she looks great.  She is moving around fine and playing in the backyard like I remember her. It is hard for me to accept that she is sick and 14 yrs old. Isn’t she pretty…

Thank you Frankie & Rachel for letting me into your home to visit and photograph Misha. I will always think of her and still love her very much.

she’s special, Darla09.29.09

Yesterday we visited with a client and good friend Z in her awesome little house. She was originally fostering Darla until she found a good home for her but soon this special lady stole her heart and is now a part of Z’s pack. She is a little crossed eyed and sometimes doesn’t see that well but nothing stops her from charging over to you to get some love. Luckily I had my camera near by and snapped a couple of shots of her, isnt she great!

Thank you Z for letting us into your beautiful place with open arms, we are so excited.
